Jesse Ed Davis was a Native American guitarist, born in Norman, Oklahoma, and was an enrolled citizen of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma. He graduated from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City (OKC) and graduated with a degree in English literature from the University of Oklahoma. After beginning his music career playing in OKC and surrounding cities, Davis eventually moved to California, and was well regarded as a session artist and solo performer, was a member of Taj Mahal's backing band and played with musicians such as Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Jackson Browne, just to name a few.
